SWEEPR Cleaner vs Avast Cleanup Premium
A transparent breakdown of performance, system footprint, privacy practices, and features to help you decide.
The Short Answer
While Avast Cleanup Premium remains a household name, its ownership under Avast/Gen Digital brought always-on background programs, bundled extra software offers, and frequent upgrade popups. SWEEPR Cleaner was built from the ground up as a fast, clutter-free alternative: it is tiny (under 15MB), never runs in the background when closed, shows you exactly what will be cleaned with a 7-day undo safety net, updates your apps in one click, boosts your PC for gaming, permanently shreds private files, and lets you clean up to 5 devices on one license.

1. No Bloatware, No Scareware, No Popups
The biggest complaint from PC enthusiasts regarding Avast Cleanup Premium is its persistent background agent and pop-up notifications urging users to upgrade or install partner software.
SWEEPR Cleaner operates on an Anti-Scareware philosophy. It runs when you open it, cleans what you authorize, and exits completely. It does not run background processes that consume CPU cycles, nor does it invent fake "Critical System Errors" to frighten users into upgrading.
2. Fast & Lightweight vs. Heavy & Slow
SWEEPR Cleaner was built to be tiny and fast. The entire download is around 12 MB, compared to Avast Cleanup Premium’s 85MB+ installer.
SWEEPR Cleaner scans your hard drive in parallel, checking browser clutter (Chrome, Edge, Brave), app leftovers (Discord, Spotify, Steam, Teams), and hidden Windows temporary folders in under 60 seconds.
3. Clean Up to 5 Devices
Avast Cleanup Premium charges extra for multi-device tiers. With SWEEPR Cleaner, one Pro license lets you clean up to 5 devices across your computers and phones.
